Havana is the door to Cuba’s spirit with its larger-than-life culture, powerful rhythms and aged beauty. The city’s streets are a romantic vision with their Baroque facades and colonial cobblestone roads. The air in Havana is filled with both music and the scents of traditional Cuban fare such as moros y cristianos (black beans and rice) and ropa vieja (shredded beef). Explorers rejoice in the world-class art collection at Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes, which showcases everything from colonial-era paintings to countless masterpieces from Cuba’s famed Vanguard period. Adventurers and poets alike enjoy a daiquiri at Hemingway’s favorite haunt, El Floridita. And everyone appreciates the grandiose Capitolio Nacional with all of its architectural passion.
Visiting Havana is something you can do all year long. With its warm weather most of the year, temperatures range between 68 to 85°F. Those visitors lucky enough to align their trip to attend events such as the famous Havana Carnival, the International Ballet Festival of Havana or, the International Festival of New Latin American Cinema will be able to see the city in its most spectacular form.
We have negotiated member-only savings with Norwegian Cruise Line on their new Cuba sailings. Sailings are 5-days, 4-nights and depart every Monday (returning on Fridays) starting summer 2018. Norwegian is the only cruise line to offer overnight stops in Havana, giving guests ample time to explore the city. Voyages also include stops at Norwegian's private island in the Bahamas, Great Stirrup Cay (if sailing on the Norwegian Sky) or Key West, Florida (if sailing on the Norwegian Sun).
Every sailing is designed to provide an opportunity for "people-to-people" exchanges between Americans and Cubans as allowed by U.S. rules governing visits to Cuba. U.S. visitors are limited in the activities they are allowed to do in Cuba by the terms of the USA's five-decade-old embargo. No need to worry though; everything is taken care of by Norwegian through their enrichment and shore excursion experiences.
